Apply for GovTEAMS PROTECTED

GovTEAMS PROTECTED applies security-based usage restrictions and also uses additional, more costly Office 365 functionality to protect your information. As a result, significantly higher licencing fees and subscription charges apply from 1 July 2021.

Application requirements for full membership

  1.  You will need access to an eligible Australian government agency email address
  2.  You must have, at minimum, a Baseline Australian government security clearance (or an agreement/arrangement in line with the PSPF and acceptable to the Department of Finance)
  3.  Your current agency’s approval for the membership fee expenditure

Who can apply?

  • Commonwealth Government employees and contractors can sign up as a member. Contact us to check if your organisation is eligible.
  • State/local government employees and private sector employees can join by invitation only, as an external member. As an external member, you can only access limited or restricted features in the community you’re invited to. Membership fees will be charged to the agency that invites you.

How to apply

Once approved, to register as a GovTEAMS PROTECTED member you will need:

  • your desktop or mobile phone (this can be a personal device),
  • an active .gov.au email address; and
  • an active baseline clearance (at minimum) to access the system (or an agreement/arrangement in line with the PSPF and acceptable to the Department of Finance).
